Before the war in Ukraine, people travelled peacefully and enthusiastically on the Ukrainian streets. Having never anticipated a sudden war before, they came across the armed invasions of Russia on 24 February 2022 and were a complete threat to mankind all around the globe. The invasion caused the displacement of a third of the Ukrainian population to Poland and other neighbouring countries. The buildings stood tall and steady before the invasion. But after being attacked, only ashes and debris remained. At least a loss of $ 100 billion was faced by Ukraine, Ukraine’s top government economic adviser Oleg Ustenko said.

Imagine, how dejected the Ukrainians would be feeling to see their country being left to ashes and leaving their houses… Probably, you felt both terrified and pity at the same time. Ukrainian men showed valour and joined the Ukrainian army. There were coughing people trying to save their lives, some being killed while some lost their body parts, and some got brutally injured. It would need around a decade to build back the infrastructure, clear the debris and maintain the environment.

The atmosphere was filled with dark clouds of pollution. Nature was affected the most as heat waves were caused all around. The price of crude oil started fluctuating as Russia was one of the major oil suppliers to the USA and western Europe. During the war, the USA did not send its military support but helped Ukraine financially with billions of dollars, free 600 missiles, and anti-tank launchers. As per a survey, Ukraine also used its Turkish Drones which gave it a lead over the Russian tanks.

History of Ukraine and Russia

The official reason given by Russian President Vladimir Putin for the Russian invasion of Ukraine was that it wanted to become a part of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). In addition, he added that the sovereignty of Russia was in danger as the USA could make its military base in Russia which could be detrimental to the country.
As per US officials, the actual plan for the launch of the attack was made in Dec 2021. But China delayed Russia at that time because of the winter Olympics, which Beijing was hosting at that time.
The actual reason for the Russian war is however related to its history. On 24 August 1991, Ukraine declared itself an independent nation. Before that time, it was a part of the Soviet Union.
On Victory day, President Putin wanted to capture Ukraine by using his nuclear missiles, bombs, vacuum bombs, etc.
An 8-year war was also included between Russia and Ukraine that included the Russian annexation of Crimea (2014) and the war in Donbas (2014–present) between Ukraine and Russian-backed separatists.

Putin Vs Zelenskyy (Differences in Political Powers)

Putin
An experienced political leader who has been an undercover agent. Further, he has been a former intelligence officer. Also, he worked as a KGB officer for 16 years and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel before resigning to become a political leader.
During Putin`s first year tenure, the Russian economy grew 7 per cent per year.

Zelenskyy

A remarkable leader with zero experience in politics before, he was an actor by profession before becoming the President of Ukraine. During his movie where he was the president, he caught the limelight and save the country. The fans were deeply touched and gave him votes.
Everyone thought that Zelenskyy could not do anything because he was an actor. When Poland offered him shelter, he did not go there and decided to fight with Russia. The Ukrainians also wagged war against Ukraine. As a great and brave leader, he established his image worldwide.
On social media, he posted that he had not left Ukraine and would fight with Russia. Before fighting, he had given 3 appeals that were ignored by Putin and did not get any reply.

USA and NATO

In the beginning, NATO did not help Ukraine as it did not want to come into the bad books of Russia. The USA also decided to be at the boundary munching chips and popcorn. Ukraine appealed to India to help it.
India however decided to go with Russia because the history between Russia and India might have got impacted by the war.
NATO initially also did not help Ukraine despite Ukraine having become a part of NATO.
But after watching the valour of President Zelenskyy and the will of his citizens, the world was also filled with joy and energy.
The UK sent its British Royal Army to help Ukraine, 600 missiles were also sent to Ukraine. Around 56 other countries including Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, France, etc also decided to help Belgium.

Russia`s Hidden Motive

The hidden motive of Russia was to recapture Ukraine and make it a part of the Russian empire as it wanted to regain the lost glory of the Soviet Union.
Ukraine had many nuclear weapons at that time. Russia and USA were pressurised to destroy the missiles as they would give them protection. If Ukraine had not destroyed its 600 nuclear bombs, then no other country in the world would have taken the risk to wage a war against Ukraine.

This is what happens when the bodyguard is the attacker in disguise. Russia on May 9 celebrates Victory Day, and it has decided to raise war on Ukraine. Nonetheless, it did not win even after losing billions of dollars in war every day.

Russia was already prepared for it and continued its invasion. Putin had to give up his Judo medal back which he had won and started attacking Ukraine vigorously.
Russia warned every other country not to interfere with the battle otherwise the consequences would be grave.

The USA – Global Power and its Hidden Intentions

In this modern era, the USA wants to become the best country in the world. For this, the main competitor of the USA is Russia.

For weakening Russia, the USA secretly helped Ukraine by giving it the location of the Russian army. Further, it provided missiles, bombs and other powerful weapons for fighting back. In that way, its people would get saved, and it would remain the no. 1 country in the world.

Donald Trump, the ex-president, said that during his period, he did not allow world war to happen. In politics, he seemed to have a comeback after Biden. He used his wit and situation and took the most out of the world war.

During the war, the USA has done the work of petrol at places caught with fire. During the initial war days, USA and France were trying their best to put restrictions on Russia financially.

Because of the war, the sales of the USA increased as it supplied weapons to Russia, China, Ukraine and other countries. The world`s 60 per cent of the military weapons are manufactured and sold by the USA.

Contradiction of Goals

The Ukraine-Russia war has been continuing for over 100 days now.
Russia wants to invade Ukraine for regaining the Soviet Union`s territory or keep the USA away from Ukraine by forcing Ukraine to come out of NATO.
Ukraine is fighting for its self-esteem and independence.
Men all around the globe are trying to help Ukraine while Powerful countries like China and India are helping Russia.
The Russian soldiers are fed up with the war and want to get out of the battle. For this, they are injuring themselves as the war conditions are miserable.

What do Statistics say about this battle?

As per statistics, everyday gut-wrenching scenes are visible at the end of the day with corpses of soldiers and commoners in the streets of Bucha; a blown-up theatre in Mariupol; the chaos at a Kramatorsk train station in the wake of a Russian missile strike that has astounded people all over the world praying God to end this deadly war soon.

The Human Toll

The whole world seems to get affected adversely in the future. A large number of people died but as per the government officials, sometimes the number of combatants or civilians seems to be exaggerated and sometimes it seems to be a lowball for which the death rate is not verifiable.

As per President Zelenskyy, 60 to 100 Ukrainian soldiers are dying in combat every day, with about 500 more wounded.
Russia’s last publicly released figures for its forces came on March 25, when a general told state media that 1,351 soldiers had been killed and 3,825 wounded.

Future Ukraine

Conspicuously, after the war gets over, the country with the most profit would be the USA. Ukraine and Russia would be at huge losses that would require at least a decade to recover.
Russia would have lost billions of dollars during this war. The financial conditions of Russia are getting worse day by day.

From my perspective, the USA played a master stroke at keeping itself out of the war and saving its citizens. Further, it kept its military powers away from the battle to safeguard its people. It gave a large number of rocket launchers, and missiles and helped Ukraine financially to defeat Russia.

Because of the combined efforts of all countries, Russia`s financial conditions hashave been deteriorating. Around 60 percent per cent of the military supplies of weapons and war equiphavement have been made by the USA. The war helped the USA in keeping itself safe as well as helping it become financially stronger and the no. 1 country in the world.
For this reason, it used Ukraine as a pawn to win over Russia.

Russia and the USA have many differences but one thing in common. Both these countries plan strategies efficiently. Some discussions are endless, some say Ukraine will win and some say Russia. In this drastic situation, everyone wants to take advantage either in the form of sympathy, money, love, care, respect, help, etc. What no one is looking at is its long-term adverse effect on human existence and the environment The Nuclear bomb attack is just knocking at our doors ready to gallop us down with its invisible thorny throat. No one is better than the other. But, what they are neglecting is the fact that they are the ends of the same thread and serve the same purpose. The decision is now left to the people either to join them in the war or save the environment. What`s your selection?
