Atma Nirbhar

Woke up to another gloomy day of this year hearing the customary words: COVID-19, quarantine period, upsurge in death rates, pandemic and a whole new bunch of depressing words and phrases. Words that made me mourn and frown.

I sat staring at the dark path that lay in front of me. With a desire to unleash me from this blurred mess of time. Unfortunately, I stayed at the same place with only thoughts and time drifting away.

Then emerged a new phrase from our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, Atma Nirbhar Bharat [self-reliance]. Despite being in the 21st century of independent modern India, there sneaked a few questions in my head “am I actually exhibiting self-reliance ? With the huge amount of freedom in my hand, am I doing right to my mother land? Am I contributing to my country and my future?

With goosebumps I once again stared at the dark path in front of me, but this time with a torch in my hand restoring my way to success. Soon realized that this torch is the so called, Atma Nirbhar or self-reliance.

Challenges to confront

We often blame others unwilling to work for the betterment of the nation and ourselves. We exercise and utilize our right to its fullest but when it comes to duties we find excuses, a bitter truth. Though we look around us for moving ahead we forget to look at ourselves and to look within.

Isolate yourself from the deadly corona virus but not from your duties. Stop leaning on an imaginary pole that will ultimately push you down. Instead stand on your own feet and move ahead in life. Stop grumbling about the situation, instead ponder a way out for an innovative India. It is time we tie our own shoelaces and run the race of life. And when we all stand on our own feet and hold hands with fraternity, a missile of success is launched out.

Recipe to self-reliance

Now the key ingredients to be self-reliant is to be self-confident, know our rights and duties, perform them effectively with a handful of humanity and to mix with it the concept of oneness. It is also equally important to make our fellow brothers and sisters taste self-reliance.

Ideas to bring a change

Let us buy our basic needs and various other products from our own men who have mixed a part of love and patriotism in them. Let us cherish our own culture and heritage. Step out from your comfort zone and do your part. Being in our homes, let us try our best to manufacture our own daily needs in a smaller scale to satisfy ourselves.

I know it is going to be difficult, but stop being dependent on readymade foreign goods rather let us make use of our own resources to develop our nation. The path to betterment is always bitter but the destination would be heavenly.

Sow your own seed and eat your own food, start rainwater harvesting [looks simpler yet makes you self-sustained]. And the least we could do is to make our people aware of the situation and give our support. Indeed, the joy of self-sufficiency is incalculable.

Conclusion

Being true democrats, let us all help in building our economy, infrastructure, our system, and our demand supply chain with utmost efficiency to form a flourishing democracy. These so-called pillars of self-reliance cannot come into action without us, the people of our nation and or righteous duties.

The answer to all your queries is to self-introspect, decode your potential, and do your part in fighting this pandemic and to apply the recipe of Atma Nirbhar in your life. Because at the end, it is you who is going to find the way out of this maze of time.

Gift yourself and the nation the torch of Atma Nirbhar today. Let us grant ourselves the true state of independence and celebrate our ancestral victory. Not only with our rights from the past but also by performing our duties for the future. Get ready to taste the actual feast of Independence-AN Atma Nirbhar BHARAT.
