It is also important to advocate policies that reduce the use of tobacco. This is also the day when smokers are encouraged to quit their journey or not to smoke for at least 24 hours first. The use of tobacco causes several diseases like tooth decay, cancer, cardiovascular disease, staining of teeth, etc. This is also taking over the lives and the loss is not small for the family as well as the person. Tobacco is something that seems to be a good way for relief, but the dark truth is that it’s hazardous for health as well as for the life.

World No Tobacco Day or Anti-Tobacco Day emphasizes the health and other risks associated with tobacco use and advocates for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption. Several campaigns, events, and activities are organized on this day to educate people about the bad effects of tobacco on health. We all know that whether eating tobacco or other such products will give pleasure for some time, it will take life away. It may happen that after chewing tobacco a person feels energetic for a while, but have you ever thought about why is it so? They make addicted and they will be caught in this wheel which will be hard to get out of and in the end, it will take over one’s life. The focus of this year’s World No Tobacco Day, May 31, is on protecting young people from the marketing of big tobacco companies and helping them avoid using tobacco and nicotine. Each year, the World Health Organization (WHO) sponsors this awareness day to highlight the health risks World No Tobacco Day of using tobacco and encourage the government to put policies into action that helps to reduce smoking and the use of other tobacco products.

According to WHO, tobacco use kills more than 8 million people around the world each year. This year, WHO is encouraging efforts that empower young people to stand up to big tobacco companies by resisting their ads and marketing, refusing to use any tobacco or nicotine products, and helping to spread the message among their friends. They are encouraging famous people, the media, and other influencers including parents and teachers to protect young people from these harmful messages. Studies show that most people who smoke started when they were teens. Teenage is a phase of life where the mind is being exposed to many things. This has both its pros and cons. It is very easy to manipulate teens as their mind is not in a state they could understand certain things. So, the conclusion is that there is an alarming need to eradicate the proliferating roots of the monster of tobacco by spreading awareness among youth. This tobacco is going to finish off the creative minds of the youth and this would affect their development. The progression will be stopped if nothing will be done against it. Let’s make this world a tobacco-free place.
