Dealing with toxic positivity

Positivity and Toxic Positivity both should be evaluated.As these two are completely different terminologies. Positivity gives you hope. It’s good to be positive or optimistic in approach. But over positivity can be harmful which is said to be toxic positivity. As it keeps you away from accommodating reality and dismantle your soul.

Having a positive approach but by accepting the reality and your emotions  helps you to get rid of Toxic Positivity and leads you towards a better life. Even negativity and toxic positivity should be differentiated; often toxic positivity is misunderstood as negativity. All the above terminology in one frame
Considering today’s pandemic condition more than being positive it’s better to be worried as it promotes us to wear mask, use sanitizer, and also to maintain safe distance. So as per current scenario in such global crises of COVID-19 we must have healthy positivity but stay away from toxic positivity. The more we care the least we are in risk.

But be aware of toxic positivity,
As it dismantle your soul.
Usually opposing toxic positivity is considered as negativity,
Spread Positivity,
And stop spreading toxic positivity.

2.1 Optimistic approach:
Positive tasks always attend success as it gives a ray of hope in every tricky situation, having positive approach takes us towards a appropriate solutions and help in focusing on goals also making your tasks easier. It’s a positive and most effective state of life as you can lead a better life with this approach.

2.2 Positivity as a hope:
Hope is something which keeps you alive and healthy positivity gives you this hope and purpose for living it keeps you enthusiatistic and energetic enough to face upcoming challenges with healthy and sportsman spirit.

2.3 Over optimistic approach:
Positivity is superior but over-optimistic approach (toxic positivity) puts you in hitch. It detaches (keeps you away) you from accepting the reality.
Healthy positivity is something which one needs to concede complicated situations. Mean while you are left with negativity, guilt, shame, etc with toxic positivity. So healthy positivity and toxic positivity must be differentiated.

4. Toxic Positivity:
Expressing oneself, conveying our emotions,
And accepting the situation is better, than to have toxic positivity.
Being positive but by accepting reality,
Aid to evade from toxic positivity.

4.1 Signs of Toxic Positivity:
Suppressing your true feelings
Feeling guilty about your feelings
Feeling ashamed about your feelings
Hiding Reality with fake smile or with good quotes
or not accepting reality
Hiding what you really feeling
Trying to dismiss all your negative feelings or shames of your negative feelings eventually leads to depression

4.2 Effects of Toxic Positivity:
Silence negative emotions
Feeling under pressure to be happy
Effects mental health
Actual feelings dismissed or ignored
invalidate your emotional stress
Ignoring real harm
Isolation
Communication problems
Low self esteem
Judging yourself leading to secondary emotions
Psychological stress due suppressing emotions

4.3 Dealing with Toxic Positivity:
 Speaking openly about emotions
 Avoiding Over positive approach towards all situations
 Seeking support from trusted persons
 One should not be distracted from problems but by Facing those problems with courage
 No problem It’s absolutely ok if you have negative thoughts. Don’t be guilty about it

Healthy positivity or hope –

• I know thing can get really tough. I am here for you

6. Comparing Negativity and Toxic Positivity:
Many times it’s better to be negative than to be toxically positive. It helps to accept the reality.

Conclusion:
