“We are taking care of our garment but we not of our skin, we are taking care of our car, but not of our body; so in the rat race of life we have forgot the center code of existence i.e., life.”

                     ~Sri Sri Ravishankar (Indian guru)

Being truly healthy in every aspect, does not mean free from diseases but free from disenchantments, despondency and being mentally and emotionally robust; and when we are untethered from these thought and beliefs, and our mind, positive energies are in tune with each other and we feel wholesome within ourselves, we feel healthy.

Today’s modern medicine says that man is psychosomatic, what happens in mind are naturally reflected in the body.

“Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit.”

                                                         ~B.K.S. Iyengar

Intellectual health is a very salient feature, it stresses on maximizing creativeness in one’s mind and being compassionate and dedicated towards the work they are passionate about and living a healthy living full of laughter and devotion.

PROBLEMS REGARDING HEALTH AND LIFESTYLE

  • Problems regarding metabolic diseases, like diabetes, cirrhosis of liver, liver cancer, heart diseases and many other such perilous diseases.
  • Depression and weight problems, which worsen obesity, loss of appetite, drug and alcoholic addiction and anxiety, patients suffer from diseases like anorexia and nervosa.
  • Melancholia, a state illness, increases risks of development of severe mental issues.
  • Pandemic and unhealthy lifestyle, prolonged stress, lack of exercise and unbalanced diets.

BEING CREATIVE

Expressive writing reduces the level of consternation and relieving stress. Researchers like Robert Epstein, explained the behavioral science on creativity. Creativity makes a person to be nimble-witted, a better problem solver, an eminent self-esteemed personality and increasing self-awareness. Creativity is a skill that develops through practice. Some of the acts of creativity which reduces the level of depression in human-beings, are acts of crafting, gardening, painting, sewing, meditation, which are some natural anti-depressant. It controls our thoughts. Jogging, cycling, getting outwalks, regular physical activities, decrease the risk of mental illnesses and these are some of the recreational activities which we can do in our spare time to lead a flawless life.

DEPRESSED PEOPLE SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE PURPOSE OF LIVING

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first.”

~Dr Martin Luther King Jr (1928-1968)

See, life is exquisite and unique. It is yours, so you have to lead life as the very way you want; and if you talk of depression, it is a non-living thing, it’s just your feeling. Can you see or touch it? The answer is no.

As Bob Proctor says, “Desire connects, you with the thing desired and expectation draws it into your life.” Expect the things you can get and don’t expect for the things you don’t.

Even the tiniest creature on Earth has a purpose so why not us? Life will go as it was meant to go, but to explore the joys of life, to understand the sole purpose of life, we have to find out the reason we are on this Earth and who and how they make our life meaningful and fruitful, only then can we break our depression and lead a new day with the light in our vision.

RELATIONSHIPS

We should sacrifice our own desires to bring a beneficial change to the world to bring triumph and the true means of happiness to others where personal satisfaction is detained. Human life is the feeling of brotherhood and societal living, relationships does not only mean relationships with one’s own family but it means to maintain relationship with this whole world. Thinking competently about people, showing positivity, being compassionate, loving life, loving others life makes mind refreshing by inculcating fresh thoughts which makes one’s life healthy.

Rivers don’t drink their own waters; trees don’t eat their own fruits. The salt seasons the soup in order to have the purpose fulfilled. Live for others.”

TALK THERAPY

Have you not felt lonely sometimes? A life crisis around the end of a love relationship, or lost someone who you loved deeply, or you are suffering from severe job stress or something which disturbing every beautiful moment of life. Well, it’s true, there is not a single living creature on Earth who has not passed through the phase of sorrow but think all over again are you really lonely in this world of billions of people. We know some people are traitors but we also know that this world is also surrounded by many virtuous people whom we do not recognize. For this thing to happen apply your five senses which the heavenly God has given you and recognize the people around you, who are supportive, interactive, extrovert, who can make your life the best in the world. Exchange with them your feelings and light up yourself and during the talk therapy painful and embarrassing feelings, shameful fantasies and troublesome memories, all demanding the courage to confront, explore, understand and resolve them.

HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS

  • Following balanced diets, and doing rigorous exercise.
  • Avoid drinking sugary drinks, avoid eating pizzas, white bread, sweetened breakfast cereals, fried; grilled; or broiled food, agave nectar, candy bars, processed meat, processed cheese, high-calorie coffee drinks, salty snacks and much more.
  • Avoid watching television and playing video games for prolonged hours.
  • Never to be lured away by anyone’s word and getting addicted by drugs and alcohol.
  • Be tender-hearted and never maim (not only physically but also mentally) a person.
  • Turn your weakness to your strength.
  • Every day, before going to sleep, think about the events happened today and if any moment or event did not go well or in the way you wanted it to be, recreate the events exactly as the way you want, cleaning up all frequency from the day and emitting a new signal and frequency for tomorrow.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

The environment plays a very crucial role in increasing an alarming rate of the prevalence of diabetes in the young children. Polluted water, atmosphere and soil affects our health gravely. The disposal of wastes in the streets increases the rate of diseases like dengue and malaria. It also creates loss of biodiversity and overpopulation.

ROLE OF GRANDPARENTS IN OUR LIFE

Whether big or small, our grandparents influence our lives in every particular ways. They are the loving companions, mentor, guide, who provides stability, safety and strength and are in stillers of high moral values, as their presence in our life is much required in the same way we should make them believe that they are our trust and believe.

Don’t you think you too need a storyteller as well as a rescuer to save us from our parents’ scolding? The ones who answer yes should keep in mind that as they are giving us happiness and affection they expect the same behavior from us and we should have at least minimum respect for these people who are our true friends and well-wishers, and playing and spending time with them reduces anxiety levels in one’s mind and creates positive thoughts which gives us some relief from today’s busy world of fierce competition.

The pets play a massive role in our life. They understand each and every emotions of ours and try to make us jovial. They are faithful and gives us maximum love and least discomfort and that makes us feel open-minded with them, by sharing with them your stories, it is true that they will not understand our problems but can reduce our pain and agony and make our heavy heart light.

ADDICTION TO SMART PHONES

In most parts of the urban areas children are engrossed in their smart phones instead of enjoying the serenity of the nature. They are so much addicted to this gadget that they forget eating food on time, it affects both their physical and mental health. Their brain cells are killed and their mind is disturbed. They have sleep disturbances, depression, loss of temper, headaches and the radiations reflected by the mobile phones are so detrimental that it causes brain tumours.

That’s why in city life most of the children and the teenagers are unhealthy because of these luxurious things around them which makes them indolent and dependent towards others, but on the other hand the children living in the rural areas are not that wealthy to afford a phone, so those children are very proficient. They play outdoor games which acts as a substitute person social interaction. It roots their brain, secretly priming their memory. They relish every moment of their life and are always happy with what they have and are not eager to have more and that makes them fit from mind as well as from body.

EXERCISE AND MEDITATION

Both exercise and meditation have a plethora of mental health benefits. Daily exercise boosts our mind as it helps in the secretion of serotonin (the happy hormone in our body). Exercises and meditation helps in improving blood circulation in the body and keep ailments at check. The combination of this two is the best combination since peanut butter and jelly. It keep emotion in balance, reduce stress and anxiety levels, increases focus and creativity and heighten memory. We know when our mind and soul is in the state of blithe we are too delighted. It brings in us more happiness and makes us enraptured.

ENGAGEMENT AND ENTHUSIASM

Engaging oneself in which one is passionate about is the best thing to do. The arena in which one is satisfied and want to excel in that particular thing, and not by any outside or parental pressure, it gives them fervor and ebullience to perform well. It gives us the eagerness to enrich our knowledge and to bring in a self-reliant society where there will be only a few hand count of people suffering from depression and there will be jovial faces around the world, full of hope and vigour.

MENTAL HEALTH DURING PANDEMIC

People were deeply affected by the mental disorder of this pandemic situation. It decreased the level of livelihood in the individuals and gave rise to desolation. People were in low spirits of regaining hope. People became alcoholic and drug addicted. Many people succumbed to death which made their families heart-broken, who forgot about their life and got drowned in the sadness of life. People endured much during this hard period and that made people gloomy and orthodox and believers of superstitions which made their mental health depressed and woebegone, but we know bad times are replaced by good times so let’s not lose hope and pray for the best.

“Take every problem as a challenge, then there is no power in this world that can wipe the smile off your face.”

~Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (Indian guru)

On my conclusionary note I would say that our potential is endless and we have to use it in our difficult times as well as in our smooth times. To lead a healthy life we have to remember that our precious life is not our expense but our investment. It is not possible to remove bad thoughts from mind in a day and it is even not easy to forget the things easily which disturbs you but to belief and trust in oneself will help to overcome stress and agony and bring in new sunshine for the mistakes done today and rectifying it the next day.
