There was a Guru in an Ashram. He had many disciples who came to seek Education. Dev was one of the disciples. Sage used to teach Upanishads regularly to the disciples. On one particular day, the sage was teaching that there is God in all the Five Forms – Water, Fire, Air, Earth, Sky. He also said God is the one who thinks good for us in everything, be it Living Things or Non-living Things. All were listening to the sage attentively.

After the class, Dev was returning to his house. He heard a Mahout screaming & running on the street. The Mahout was shouting, “Musth Elephant is Coming, All run please”. Dev overheard but did not listen to Manhout’s words. He remembered the lesson that he had learned in the class on that day, so he thought, even in the musth elephant lies God, what is the musth elephant going to do to him. He imagined like that & drove slowly.

Within seconds, Musth Elephant arrived & caught him. It threw him far away with its long trunk. He fainted, and he wasn’t able to open his eyes. He was injured badly. Fortunately, he didn’t die. His sage came to see him after hearing the news.

Sage asked him how it happened. He explained. He had thought God is in Musth Elephant also so he won’t do anything to me. Guru laughed & said, “You Insane! God is indeed in everything. You saw the God in the Musth Elephant, but you forgot to see God in the Mahout was shouting to run.”

The Moral of the Story is given by the famous Thirukurral –
