     ABOUT HER:
MARY KOM was born on 1 MARCH 1983 in KANGATHEI VILLAGE MOIRANG LAMKAI IN CHURACHAND PUR DISTRICT OF RURAL MANIPUR IN INDIA
            She came from a poor family. Her parents MANGTE TONPA KOM and MANGTE AKHAM KOM were farmers.
                   She studied at LOKTAK CHIRSTIAN MODEL MODEL HIGH SCHOOL up to VI class at MOIRANG. However she quit studies before completed her SCHOOLING. When she was student she participated in all sport. She have very special interest on sports, she used to play game like football, running race and many more.
          IN 1998 DINGKO SINGH BOXER WON GOLD MEDAL At the Asian games. By that she inspired and decided to make her motherland proud. This is the incident inspired her and made her goal as boxer. This is how she took her career as boxing. As a young girl her parents opposed regarding her choice of a career as a boxer. She went to Imphal to take training she requested coach. M. Narjit Singh at Manipur state. She is a quick learner , she often practice late night after other persons left.
             Since boxing is considered unsuitable for women many, Mary Kom did her passion and interest from her family and her family came to know about her interest through a newspaper when she won Manipur state level championship in 2000
           She felt very sad for leaving her parents and siblings and going to Imphal. Their family is in very critical position and lack of money in that time she leaving her family is very difficult for her.
                 She did very hard work and praticipated in state level WOMEN BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP and she got BEST BOXER AWARD, in 2000. After that she participated in SEVENTH EAST INDIA WOMEN BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP which is held in WEST BENGAL AND PROCEEDED to WIN GOLD.
           Since boxing is considered unsuitable for women many, Mary Kom did her passion and interest from her family and her family came to know about her interest through a newspaper when she won Manipur state level championship in 2000
                    After that she participated she won 5 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP from 2000 to 2005. Between 2001 to 2006 she won AIBA CHAMPIONSHIP  2002,2005,2006 and second in 2001.

         She met K.Omler Kom in 2001. When she was preparing national in Punjab. He was impressed by seeing Mary Kom. They both dated for 4 years. At last they got married on MARCH 2005. In 2007 they had blessed with baby twins.
       In 2002 for winning GOLD MEDAL MANIPAL STATE GOVERNMENT GAVE HER THE JOB IN POLICE DEPARTMENT AS SUB INSPECTOR OF POLICE. By doing the police job she also give coaching of boxing for women. The money which will come they uses for daily expenses.
        In 2006 they started Mary Kom boxing academy that is free of cost. In that by she teaches the students and she practiced for other tournament. This academy is for all sports. His academy is not only for girls but also for boys. In 2010 their company renamed as M.C MARY KOM BOXING ACADEMY.
       In 2008 at the Asian women’s boxing championship she won silver medal. At that time in china AIBA WOMEN BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP she earned gold medal, That is her 4th gold medal. At 2009 in asian indoor games she won an other gold medal.
          After winning silver medal in asian boxing championship in 2008 she practiced very much and did more hard work, and won GOLD MEDAL IN ASIAN BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2009.
      When she was in CHINA FOR AIBA WOMEN CHAMPIONSHIP. HER HUSBAND TOOK CARE OF THEIR CHILDREN AND ENCOURAGED KOM VERY MUCH. WHEN SHE IS IN CHINA SHE HAD CALL FROM HER HUSBAND AND SAID THAT ” FOR OUR SON HAD AN HEART PROBLEM AND DOCTORS SAID THAT WANTED TO DO HEART SURGERY. And SAID THAT WHEN YOU WILL RETURN THEN WE CAN START HEART SURGERY, WIN AND COME. THEN BOXING MATCH COMPLETED SHE WON THE MATCH AND RETURNED AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED HEART SURGERY.

          He participated in asian games weight category she practiced for 48 kgs but by inconviences, she participated in 51KGS categeory even though she not practiced for 51kgs but she won BRONZE MEDAL. This shows that how is encouraged her self.At the ASIAN WOMEN BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP IN MONGOLIA IN 2012 she participated in the same weight category and won the G

              The Manipur government awarded her 50 LAKHS AND 2 ACRES OF LAND. After that in 2013 they had an another baby boy.
She had also been ranked as the WORLDS NO. 1 FEMALE LIGHT-FLYLIGHT BY AIBA. She is the FIRST INDIAN FEMALE BOXER to win a GOLD MEDAL in the ASIAN GAMES IN 2014 at INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA and is the FIRST INDIAN FEMALE BOXER TO WIN GOLD MEDAL AT THE 2018 COMMONWEALTH GAMES. She is also the only boxer to become ASIAN AMERATUR BOXING CAMPION FOR SIX TIMES.

ON APRIL 2016 the president of India nominated MARY KOM AS A MEMBER OF RAJYA SABHA. And on MARCH 2017 SHE IS ELECTED AS NATIONAL OBSERVER OF BOXING ALONG WITH Akhil Kumar.
        She released a autobiography book with name UNBREAKABLE ON 19 NOVEMBER 2013. AND A MOVIE OF MARY KOM BIOGRAPHY WHICH IS NAMED AS MARY KOM RELEASED ON 05 SEPTEMBER 2014.
