This Lockdown I Unlocked My Inner Self

This lockdown as I thought and thought,

I wondered if I will ever see light,

This little thought none of my friends got,

I wonder what was hidden from our sight.

What do I have left in my lonely self,

Where there is no joy?

Should I store my life upon the shelf,

As my life has turned dark as soy?

At last, as days go by,

I hear my inner voice speak.

It brushes my concerns aside with a sigh,

And secures my joy which was starting to leak.

Unlock your inner self, spoke my voice,

Alas, I find it not of use,

My voice persuades that it’s my choice,

But is there anything left to lose?

The days get darker as the great shadow haunts our souls,

What has happened to the world I knew?

This event has filled our lives with holes,

The number of joyful events is few.

But as I started to see,

There was a point in finding who I was,

Discovering myself is the key,

We need to unlock ourselves; this Virus is the cause.

I have found out I am me,

I will not reside in this world filled with darkness,

Where there is nothing to see,

I will make this into a brighter world where no light is less.

This is who I am, this is my Inner self,

I am someone who stands strong!

I will never store my life up on a shelf,

This is a healthy place and the darkness won’t stay for long!
